Lifecycle

Where we are, end to end

A project is not a tender. The system tracks distinct entities across the lifecycle and links them where a real identifier exists. Every count below is live from the canonical database.

Data truth

What the numbers actually mean

The headline counts, told honestly. A tender is not always an open bid, a contract ceiling is not spend, and two spellings of a buyer are one organization.

Tenders, by what they actually are

Award value, by measure

Obligated (US) and contract value (CA) are different things in different currencies. We never add them into one number.

Ask

Ask govtender anything

Plain-English questions over the whole database, answered on your free-first LLM chain. The AI reads real records and cites them. It never invents.

Ingestion

Source health

Official federal sources only. The license gate keeps unverified sources dark; a failed run is recorded and isolated, never silently dropped.

Coverage by country

Inferred project sectors

Explainable rules over NAICS / PSC / UNSPSC + keywords. Every inference stores its rule version, evidence, and confidence.

Coverage gaps, stated explicitly

  • CanadaBuys bulk data is federal only (no provincial or municipal notices).
  • SAM.gov uses a personal-key daily quota; a run that hits HTTP 429 backs off, records the failure, and continues.
  • Grants, permits, and project maps are tracked as their own entity types, never as tenders.
  • Org resolution auto-merges only strong matches; weaker matches wait in the review queue below and never change displayed numbers.
  • This system never claims complete U.S.–Canada coverage.

Data snapshots

Daily frozen copies: gzipped CSV + a SHA-256 hash manifest on disk, plus an append-only metrics history in the database. History is never overwritten.
